Common questions

Things homeowners always ask us

How much does tile installation cost in Monmouth County?

Most bathroom tile projects run $3,500–$15,000+ depending on size, tile selection, and scope. A backsplash may be under $2,000, while a full master bath remodel runs higher. Every project starts with a free in-home visit and a written, itemized quote — so you know the exact number before anything starts.

How long will my project take?

A kitchen backsplash is usually 1–2 days. A shower or bathroom floor typically takes 3–5 days including waterproofing cure times. Full bathroom remodels generally run 1–3 weeks. You get a real schedule up front — start date, working days, finish date — and we stick to it.

Do you handle demolition and waterproofing?

Yes — everything. Demo, disposal, substrate prep, and full waterproofing systems including modern membrane systems for showers. Proper prep is what separates tile that lasts 30 years from tile that fails in 5, and it's the part of the job we refuse to rush.

Who buys the tile — you or us?

Either works. Many homeowners pick their tile at a local showroom and we install it; others ask us to source it, which often gets you contractor pricing. Either way, we'll double-check quantities, trim pieces, and lead times before ordering so nothing holds up your project.

Can you help us choose tile? We're overwhelmed by options.

That's half the job. Bring your Pinterest board or saved photos to the estimate visit and we'll tell you honestly what works in your space, what holds up to kids and dogs, and what looks great without blowing the budget. We've seen thousands of combinations — we'll narrow it down fast.

Do you install heated tile floors?

Yes, and it's one of our most-requested upgrades. Radiant heat mats go under the tile in bathrooms, kitchens, and mudrooms, with a programmable thermostat. If you're already retiling a floor, it's the cheapest moment you'll ever have to add heat.

Do we need to move out or leave during the work?

No. We contain dust, cover floors along our path, and clean up at the end of every day. For bathroom projects we work so the rest of your home stays livable — most families barely change their routine.

Can you match or repair our existing tile?

Often, yes. We source discontinued and near-match tile, replace cracked pieces, regrout, and recaulk so the repair blends in instead of standing out. If a true match isn't possible, we'll show you the options before any work begins.

How do we keep grout and marble looking new?

We seal grout and natural stone before we leave, and hand you a simple care sheet: what to clean with, what to avoid (vinegar and marble don't mix), and when to reseal. Follow it and your tile will look installed-yesterday for years.

Are you licensed and insured in New Jersey?

Yes. P.A. Mazza Tile & Marble is a fully licensed and insured New Jersey home improvement contractor, and every installation is backed by our workmanship warranty. We're happy to share our license number and certificate of insurance before you sign anything.
